Filter drum and its application in fish farming

A drum filter is a mechanical filtration device used to remove suspended particles such as fish waste and food residue from water in fish farming systems. By improving water quality, reducing the need for frequent water changes, increasing the efficiency of biological systems, and reducing maintenance costs and time, this device improves the health conditions and efficiency of the fish farming system.
 

How the filter drum works

The drum filter operates by allowing water containing suspended particles to enter a rotating cylinder covered with a mesh screen. The particles get trapped on the mesh, and the filtered water passes through the mesh openings and exits. The cylinder continuously rotates, and an automatic cleaning system removes the accumulated particles from the mesh, directing them to a separate outlet. This process is continuous and does not require any stoppage.
