Algae harvesting device

Considering the increasing cultivation and harvesting of algae in the country, and its wide-ranging applications in various industries, along with the fact that algae are soluble in water, there was a need for a device capable of continuously and hygienically separating algae from water. Therefore, an algae harvesting device was designed and built specifically to separate various types of nano-sized Spirulina algae from water.

How the device works

Algae solution and culture medium or water enter the device from one side and the algae is separated from the water by a micron mesh on the cylinder of the device. The water comes out from under the device and the algae separated by the rotation of the cylinder is separated from the net by a paddle and falls into the output tray and exits the device. The cylinder of the device is constantly rotating and the algae harvesting is done continuously without manual intervention.

Specifications and features of the algae harvester

The algae solution and the cultivation medium or water enter the device from one side. Inside the device, algae are separated from the water using a micron mesh screen wrapped around a cylinder. The water exits from underneath the device, while the separated algae, due to the rotation of the cylinder, are scraped off by a blade from the mesh and directed into an output tray, exiting the device. The cylinder of the device continuously rotates, ensuring continuous harvesting of algae without manual intervention.
