100-Liter Drum Filter

The 100-liter drum filter, also known as the 80-4 model, is made of 304 or 316 stainless steel and is one of the smallest drum filters in the Frame 80 family. It allows the installation of four mesh panels measuring 120 × 40 cm with different mesh opening sizes. For fisheries applications, our recommended mesh size for installation on the drum filter ranges from 40 to 120 microns. The mesh size can be adjusted based on the weight of the fish or the cultured aquatic species. For example, if you plan to raise fry under 10 grams or shrimp on your farm, a 40-micron mesh can be used. For medium-weight fish, 60- and 80-micron meshes are suitable, while for grow-out sizes, 100- and 120-micron meshes are highly appropriate. The meshes used in this 100-liter drum filter are available in two materials: polyester for saline and brackish water, and stainless steel for normal freshwater conditions.

FEATURES OF THIS DRUM FILTER

Easy-release nozzles are installed to simplify servicing and maintenance. In addition, the bearing is designed to operate without the need for grease lubrication or plating; it is cooled and lubricated solely by a small flow of water. As a result, the bearing’s service life is extended by several years compared to similar models, while overall maintenance requirements are significantly reduced. This unit can be supplied with either a European gear motor or an Iranian worm gear motor. All units are equipped with a backwash pump and a backwash filter to minimize the need for nozzle servicing.

All drum filters manufactured by Persian Aqua are produced in two configurations: a channel-installed model and a closed drum model designed for in-line pipeline installation. Drum filters intended for channel installation require a dedicated installation space to be constructed at the project site using masonry materials, concrete, or similar methods. After the installation area is prepared, the drum is positioned in place, and water continues its flow through the drum filter along its designated path. Closed drum filters, also known as closed or in-line drum models, are equipped with an integrated water tank and do not require any special construction work. In these systems, only the water inlet and outlet pipelines are connected to the drum filter, after which the unit is ready for operation.

The price of the 100-liter drum filter depends on several factors, including the type of stainless steel used in the unit, which can be 304 or 316, as well as the overall weight of the system. These factors have a major impact on the device’s service life and significantly reduce maintenance requirements. Other important factors include the type of motor and gearbox, the backwash pump, the installed mesh panels, and the design details of the bearing system and the polymers used in the bearings. Precision in the design and manufacturing of these components directly contributes to better performance and a longer overall lifespan of the unit. To select the appropriate drum filter based on the flow rate passing through the system and the mesh opening size installed on the unit, you can refer to the table below. Keep in mind that the mesh opening size has a significant effect on the system’s flow capacity. For this reason, choosing the correct model is essential for optimal performance.
